Twilight Passages - Songs of beauty, youth and longing - Emily Jennings & Cassie Mathews

Royal College of Music graduates Emily Jennings (soprano) and Cassie Mathews (guitar) present ‘Twilight Passages: songs of beauty, youth and longing’ - this intriguing and reflective programme includes Benjamin Britten’s ‘Songs from the Chinese’ and Lennox Berkeley’s ‘Songs of the half light’ as well as songs by John Dowland and Cassie’s own arrangements of songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams. 

Emily is a song specialist and passionate recitalist. She is a Britten Pears Young Artist, a SongEasel Young Artist and she was recently selected to compete in the prestigious Wigmore Hall International Song Competition. She has given performances as part of some of the most exciting events in the country and beyond such as the Aldeburgh Festival and Glastonbury Festival.

Cassie is a versatile guitarist with a vast repertoire covering everything from renaissance lute to contemporary pop music as a guitar vocalist. As a soloist she has performed all over the world, winning the Lennox Berkeley Guitar prize and premiering many new works as part of prestigious festivals in venues including The National Portrait Gallery and the Martin Centre. As a chamber musician she has given performances in some of the most exciting live music venues in the world such as Wigmore Hall.
