Albion Orchestra
Join the Albion Orchestra at St Gabriel’s, Pimlico for an evening showcasing some true gems of British symphonic repertoire. Beginning in Edwardian London, the performance opens with Elgar’s Cockaigne Overture, a humorous portrait of Londoners and their quirks. Following this, Coates’ exuberant London Suite moves the evening firmly into the 20th century, before finally, the Albion Orchestra performs Vaughan Williams’ soundscape of London, Symphony No. 2. No open-top buses needed on this tour of London.
Founded in 2023, the Albion Orchestra is a London-based orchestra made up of students from the country’s finest conservatories, and aims to promote and preserve British symphonic music. Following a successful inaugural concert, the orchestra quickly gained a reputation for versatility and quality, and looks forward to an exciting season.
